Got a question about your grant? These FAQs cover what you might need to know while you have an active grant with us.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does The Fore’s monitoring and evaluation involve?
We keep it light. Our monitoring and evaluation involves a yearly online chat with a member of The Fore team or one of our Strategic Applicant Consultants. It’s a chance for us to hear how things are going, what impact the grant is having, and how else we can support you. Afterwards, we’ll ask you to fill in a short survey to help us understand the numbers side a little more (e.g. growth in income and the number of people you support).
If your grant is spread over multiple years, the next instalment of your grant will be released after this chat. You’ll also have a final chat at the end of your grant to wrap things up.
How should I prepare for my monitoring and evaluation call?
There’s no need to prepare anything in writing. We understand that small charities already spend a lot of time writing reports for funders – this process is meant to be easy and useful for you.
We’ll talk through things like:
- How your programmes, fundraising and income generation, partnerships, and staffing/board are going in general
- Your experience of The Fore’s wraparound support
- Your progress towards the agreed targets outlined in your panel report
- What the next year looks like for you
- How we can keep supporting you even after your grant
What should we do if we encounter any roadblocks that may prevent us from meeting our targets?
Just let us know as soon as you can. Please don’t wait until your monitoring and evaluation chat to tell us. The sooner we know, the sooner we can help you to find a way forward and offer the right support.
When can I reapply to The Fore?
Once you’ve had your final monitoring and evaluation chat, you’re welcome to apply again. You’ll need to have a new funding ask that would unlock a different transformation for your organisation.
